Sited close to the Fraser River in rural Abbotsford BC this winery’s architecture takes its cue from the sedate and purposeful farm buildings that dot the landscape. The winery is envisioned as a collection of buildings- a fermentation hall, barrel cellar, tasting room, office, kitchen and food service lounge- with courtyards and outdoor spaces extending the use and visual impact of the architecture.

Simple architectural forms belie a sophisticated mechanical and structural design, as this building will have independent water sourcing and will be Passivhaus certified. Wines produced will include Gruner Veltliner and Rieslings- varietals which grow well in colder climates and richer soil. Its proximity to Vancouver is expected to make the winery a day trip destination for Vancouverites, a flagship for this budding wine-growing region.
