A west-facing ski-in cliffside lot with prominent views up and down the valley, this design furthers our development of a uniquely Whistler architectural language: natural stone, dramatic rooflines, and proximity to significant forests. Despite its proximity to Vancouver, the snow loads in Whistler are incredible- many multiple times Vancouver’s loads, which result in a completely different approach to design. It's why we love intensely regional design- it produces a completely different outcome based upon topography, weather, climate and materials. No two projects are ever the same in spite of shared building cultures, practices and codes.
